Stressed Out? Meditation to the Rescue!

By: Mary Ellen Flora

It’s 1:00 a.m. and you are exhausted. Your baby is screaming and your spouse is in the other room asleep. You are feeling deserted, overwhelmed and at your wits end. Sound familiar? How can meditation help you or someone you know in a stressful situation?

Calm yourself and you will calm your baby and anyone else around you. You can calm your body by breathing slowly and deeply. You can also calm your body by grounding which is a spiritual meditation technique.

Grounding - ESpirit

4 Easy Meditation Techniques

1. Sit down in a straight backed chair with your feet flat on the floor.

2. Close your eyes and breathe deeply.

3. Create a cord of energy from your body near the base of your spine and let it flow to the center of the Earth.

4. Keep breathing slowly and deeply and allow the tension and irritation to flow out of your body and down the grounding cord into the Earth.

Keep doing these meditation techniques until your body begins to relax. Everyone is unique so it could be two minutes, twenty minutes or more for your body to relax.

Grounding has another benefit: you can use it to release energy from your system. You can release energy down your grounding cord and allow it to be neutralized at the center of the Earth. You can release tension, unwanted concepts, foreign energies, or anything else down the grounding cord. You can use the grounding cord to release anything from your body or energy system that you do not want, whether it is your creations or something you accepted from someone.
