Remembering

Reflecting on the past can be a healing if you do it in the present. You can remember the process you went through to arrive where you are now to validate your learning experience. The secret to creating a healing from remembering your past is doing it in present time.

Our bodies exist only in the present. So, when reflecting on the past or creating goals for the future, you – the spirit – need to focus in the present. If you travel out of the present, you leave the body’s reality behind. If you go to the past your body will experience depression, if you travel to a possible future your body will be afraid. So, for remembering and planning to be healing, you need to focus in the present where your body exists.

Throughout the year we have days focused on remembering. If we stay focused in the present and we don’t get lost outside of the body’s realm, remembering can be a healing. During Memorial Day (USA), Victoria Day (CA), Labor Day (MX) and the many other national remembrance days if you, the spirit, focus in the present while allowing your memories, you will have a more fulfilling experience. I enjoy remembering the fun and adventures my late husband and I had, if I stay focused on my present. If I project my attention into the past and try to be there, I become sad. Everyone can learn to remember without taking a trip into the past by focusing on the present.

Meditation helps you focus in the present so you have the power to use what you learned in the past to create what you want in the future.
