It is Reccomended

It is recommended that you take care of your space
Until we meet again in this very special place
And may God be with you to guide your through your daze
And allow a great big golden sun to burn right through that haze
May your God be with you until we meet again

I learned this song many years ago – when I first came to CDM. I’d not thought of it for a long time. Suddenly I found myself humming or singing it randomly – sometimes several times a day. This was easy to do as it is short and cheerful.

I was in the middle of singing this for the umpteenth time when it dawned on me. I know how to take care of my space but lots and lots of people don’t.

I wasn’t thinking in terms of meditation or healing or even creating a safe space. I was thinking of the simple “walking around town” techniques I use all the time.

First is the base – Grounding. The function of grounding is to help you feel safe and more aware of things around you. Grounding anchors you to the reality of planet Earth. Equally important, grounding is useful for releasing things such as stress, pain, or other people’s energy – including any overwhelming emotions.

Then there is a general sense of space, or Aura Awareness. Checking to confirm that your aura goes all the way around your body – including over your head and under your feet. One reason why taking care of your space is “recommended” is that if something is in your aura, then it is inside your space. If it is in your space, it is part of your personal reality and directly impacts your life. Expand your aura a bit too far and suddenly you are experiencing all the fear of your next-door neighbor who is heavily into conspiracy theories.

Then we have the Protection Rose. The purpose of this technique is to assist you in defining your space. It marks a boundary. Most people respect personal boundaries if they are aware of them. (People are remarkably perceptive.) A protection rose will jog their awareness with the added bonus of jogging yours if you start to move out of your space.

Deliberately taking the time to Make Separations – even though it only takes a few seconds in most cases – helps you validate yourself and, at the same time, rebalances your energy to the correct level for you. This technique ensures that what you are working on is really yours – which can save a great deal of pain and confusion.

Things on the planet right now are energetically very active. It is unsurprising that some of the generalized energy would “stick” to matching information in your space. There are lots of “causes” and “movements” creating a sense of urgency – emphasizing a need to take action. If you are passionate about a cause – attracted to the energy – it is natural to pull some of the vibration into your space. It also works the other way – if there is something going on that you really dislike, you resist that energy and it sticks to you like little bits of lint or fur.

As I thought of these techniques, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for each one.

Finally, because we are social creatures, we are predisposed to match energy. This means that if you are taking care of your space, those around you may start to take care of their space – simply by matching your grounding.
