Growth Requires Change
Most people know we must continue to change to grow and develop. This is true for all of us. For us to truly experience our spiritual nature we have to let go of old ways. We have to release hate, fear, pain and other old ways of relating to the physical world. We need to cleanse old patterns developed when we were experiencing the pain or fear. We need to be in the present and clear the energy of the past in order to receive the light of spirit that we are capable of experiencing within ourselves.
You can develop your life patterns and stay in them, or you can change your habits and grow. As a seven-year-old friend said, “You have to learn new habits to go along with feeling good.” “You cannot pour new wine into old wine skins” is another way of saying that we must constantly be changing our body and physical world in order to accommodate our spiritual growth.
An older friend of mine was abused as a child and carried her pain and fear patterns into adulthood. She spent many years in this painful state of being. When she started meditating and healing, she changed. She grounded and got in neutral and released the past experiences that kept her in the patterns causing fear and pain. She faced her fears and let them go. She learned to recognize herself as a beautiful spirit, capable of being senior to her body’s emotions and her experiences. She is a happy, creative woman today, because she changed.
She is an excellent example of being “a new creature” because she got in touch with herself the spirit and let go of old ways. She the spirit created new ways of creating in harmony with her body by using her spiritual perspective. When we recognize ourselves as spirit, we change. We stop seeing the world as only a survival experience and begin to see it as a creative opportunity. We become new when we see that everyone is spirit. We see life in a new way when we accept our spirituality.
Everyone is spirit and we are in physical bodies. Spirit is energy and loves to create. Spirit is always growing and requires change in its physical body and environment to meet its desire to develop. We have to constantly change our body and physical reality to keep up with our spiritual growth. Our beliefs and behavior have to change for us to heal.
We cannot fit our new realizations and beliefs into our old ways. When we recognize that we are spirit and see the world through our new spiritual awareness, we have to let go of old patterns and habits. For example, if we see each other as spirit, it is difficult to hate each other. We become new and healed when we recognize our spirituality and change our physical system to accept a spiritual view.
You do need to cleanse your body to receive your new high vibration and spiritual beliefs, or you can hurt the body. The body needs your spiritual attention and care so it can change to meet your growth needs. The body requires time and space, while you the spirit create instantly. If your body is filled with fear and you try to put love into it, the body will become more afraid. All it experiences is being forced to do something. If you take time and meditate and see what your body needs to release, to accept the love, it is easy to use the body for your spiritual purpose.
We are here on Earth to grow and learn. We are here to become “new creatures” who let go of the past and embrace the new opportunities for learning and growth. We are here to create as spirit, and we need to prepare and heal our bodies so they can receive us.
Let us all focus on our spiritual nature to change into new creatures: spiritually aware and awake, willing to change so we can continue to grow.
