Childless Cat Ladies… What Fun!
Do you have a body perspective or a spiritual perspective?
Recently there has been a big hoopla over a statement made by a male public figure that childless women (moreover who love cats) make a less valuable contribution to society than those bearing children, and therefore deserve less in return from society. Let’s shorten this concept to “childless cat ladies.”
There was a tremendous public uproar and response, in humor, ridicule and admonishment to such a narrow sighted and untrue blanket statement. Firstly, needless to say, there is an endless number of women who love cats and have contributed in major ways to social well-being in diverse fields, without bearing children (is this possible?): Taylor Swift (music), Corrie Ten Boom (spirituality), Betty White (entertainment), Frida Kahlo (artist) and Virginia Wolf (writer), to name a few.
Furthermore, with or without cats, women not bearing children, hold up their end of major contributions to society: Oprah Winfrey, Jane Austen, Louise May Alcott, Kamala Harris and so on. The childless cat ladies concept defines a woman by what she does with her body, and even then, by one part, the uterus.
But all this is beside the point. From a spiritual perspective, the blanket statement is not only unfounded, but very amusing.
I am spirit. I have a body which allows me to experience and create on planet Earth. I have many lifetimes to learn my spiritual lessons. The ultimate goal is to take responsibility for all that I create and to return to the Supreme Being, the Creator of All.
To mention a few past lives, I personally have been a young childless male troubadour in medieval England, a travelling female shaman in Africa, a young male warrior in the Middle East, a Scandinavian mother and housewife. Each of these lifetimes has contributed to who I am today.
So, the male public speaker today may well have been a childless cat lady in a past life, and the childless cat lady today may well have been the emperor of a mighty kingdom long ago.
When you have a spiritual perspective, you see all things have value and are possible.
