Having

In the physical sense having may mean to possess or own, such as having a house, a car, clothing, money and so forth. It can also mean to experience, such as having a good day or having fun.

From a spiritual perspective it can mean balance. As spirit, you need to balance giving and receiving in order to have. What you give, you receive and what you receive you can give. When this is seen as a circle, like God, there is no beginning and no end. When you do this freely, without strings attached, you experience your ability to have.

We may give to our spouse and receive from our child, yet as each of us is part of the Whole, the circle is complete. When we give freely, without expectation of a return, the giving is allowed to flow. When we receive graciously, without blocking the flow, the circle continues. When we give and receive freely, we have an abundance. When we block either our ability to give or receive, we lack, and look around for what is wrong. If we have been receiving only and then have to give, we may feel resentful, like a child learning to grow up. We need to look within and balance ourselves to be mature. We must each give and each receive to be whole and have communication as spirit and body.

Use your family, as an example. You give your skills, money, time and energy to make it work in this reality. You receive a safe place to communicate, relax, share, create, survive, have fun and much more. A circle of giving and receiving that allows you to have this creation of family. Everyone needs acceptance of what he/she can give, and your family provides a place for your giving as well as your receiving.

We manifest ourselves in the physical reality by first having an idea and believing in it. Then we find ways to make our idea or belief real. We must allow ourselves to receive and have what we are creating. First, we have to want something, then believe we can create it, and finally allow ourselves to have it. These are all steps to completing the circle.

Once we have asked for something, we must learn to receive it and to “have” it. To keep the flow moving, we then need to give of what we have received.

When we receive our gifts graciously and give them joyously, the energy keeps flowing. If we refuse to receive or do so grudgingly, we stop the flow. If we cease to share our gifts with joy, we also stop the flow. We need to receive and give to have all the abundance available.

The way we create our world is by giving our gifts to each other and receiving the gifts from each other. In receiving from and giving to, our ability to have overflows.
